"Houston's immunization rates have long lagged behind those of other large cities, and I am pleased to be working with a group that is committed to making them the best in the nation! As a pediatrician, I am tired of seeing children maimed and killed by preventable illnesses, and distressed that the public has become apathetic about vaccines or opposed to them when they save more lives annually than an other medical intervention - in fact more than any other public health intervention besides the provision of clean water and sanitation systems! Our children deserve to be protected so that they can live up their full potential, and adults need to realize that vaccinations are available to protect them as well!"
Dr. Mouzoon cares for hospitalized newborns, and advocates for infant Hepatitis B vaccine and for family vaccinations for influenza and whooping cough to protect the newest family member. Her two children and husband know that if a new vaccine becomes available, they will be among the first to receive it!
