Take Action Locally!
Everyone can participate in immunization advocacy! The Immunization Partnership website provides helpful information on how you can make your voice heard. Here are some examples.
-
Call your state senator and representative. Take the time to make calls to your elected officials. Use the talking points provided on TIP’s website to help get your message across.
-
Organize a letter-writing campaign. Mobilize your community to get people writing and communicating about immunization issues. Encourage colleagues, friend/family, parents, physicians, administrators, and health officials to write letters in support of immunizations.
-
Contact your local media representatives. Write a letter-to-the editor about immunization events that are occurring locally or at the state level.
-
Arrange a visit. Schedule an appointment with your legislator or a staffer at their district office. With TIP’s talking points in hand, you have the information you need to make your point effectively and ASK for something specific. You have the power to make a difference!
